Gas Safety Week

Gas Safety Week – what does it mean for you?

Did you know that it’s Gas Safety Week? Taking place between 19th and 25th September, this annual safety initiative sees companies from across the UK working together to raise awareness around the dangers of poorly maintained gas appliances, which can cause carbon monoxide poisoning, fires, and explosions.

Whilst gas safety is important all year round, Gas Safety Week (which is coordinated by the Gas Safe Register) provides a platform for the gas industry and consumer organisations to focus all their communications about gas safety. As such, Gas Safety Week draws attention to the need for proper maintenance of gas appliances and the importance of gas safety.

What is the Gas Safe Register?

The Gas Safe Register is a certification body whose purpose is improving and maintaining gas safety to ensure the highest standards are met. They make sure that all gas engineers on the Register are qualified to work with gas, and are able to meet the highest standards
The Gas Safe Register regularly inspects Gas Safe engineers and their establishments, including Jongor, to ensure that the highest of standards are being adhered to.

How does this apply to Jongor Engineers?

Our gas engineers are Gas Safe Certified (you can see the Gas Safe® logo on their uniforms) and adhere to the Gas Safe regulations and British Standards. Some of their qualifications include Commercial Catering Range Cookers (for Natural Gas and LPG), Commercial Catering Fat & Pressure Fryers (Natural Gas and LPG), First Fix Commercial Pipework (Natural Gas and LPG) and Pipework Commissioning.

What does this means for our customers?

All our gas (and electrical) items are fully tested prior to every hire by one of our qualified engineers, and test records are available on request. Our engineers are also able to install gas and electrical items, give the final sign off on your kitchen and issue a commissioning certificate.
