Warehouse Operative

Jongor Hire have been supplying the event and hospitality industry with catering equipment for over 40 years, so it’s fair to say we know what we’re doing! Our catering equipment is thoroughly cleaned and tested before every hire and our tableware is perfectly hand polished, ready to lay up at an event. That’s where this role comes in. There are over 10,000+ items which our Warehouse Operatives clean, store, pick and count on a daily basis to make sure they are ready to hire to our clients on a daily basis.

As one of our Warehouse Operatives you’ll:

  • Clean equipment, identifying damage and missing parts
  • Accurately count equipment and identify any losses
  • Store hire equipment and appliances safely and in the correct location
  • Pick clients orders correctly and load them onto our vehicles
  • Keep the warehouse clean and tidy
  • Be required to use manual handling aids to complete your workload which can be of a physical nature
  • Work alone or as part of a team with colleagues
  • Be required to visit client sites from time to time to support with the collection or delivery of equipment

Working Hours

  • Predominately you’ll work Monday to Friday, either 7.30am to 4pm or 8.30am to 5pm
  • You will be required to flex your shift pattern during peak months in the summer and at Christmas. This means working weekends or bank holidays and amending your start and finish times as required
  • A higher hourly rate is paid for weekend and bank holiday working

Essential requirements:

  • Previous experience of working in a warehouse environment
  • Experience of working in the hospitality industry would be advantageous
  • Experience of working in a fast paced role would be preferred
  • Strong verbal communication skills
  • Good numeracy skills
