Operations Manager



Jongor Hire have been supplying the event and hospitality industry for over 40 years and are widely recognised as industry leaders. Our catering equipment is thoroughly cleaned and tested before every hire by our team of Gas Safe engineers and our tableware is perfectly hand polished, ready for our clients to lay up for their events.

As the Operations Manager for our London Depot, you’ll oversee the day to day running of the Warehouse, Logistics, Maintenance and Sales departments of the London depot in Hayes. The Operations Manager ensures the branch team are motivated to deliver all client requirements on time and to their order specifications in the most efficient and cost effective way.

Focusing on Jongor’s clients within central London and the M25 ranging from catering venues to museums and hotels, this is an autonomous role managing a small team of approximately 15 people.

This role is ideally suited to someone who has worked within the catering and events industry maybe as an Operations Manager or in a Back of House Manager role. The Operations Manager role would be ideal for someone who is looking for a lifestyle change away from catering operations. Jongor Hire is a seasonal business with pressure points in the summer and the Christmas period when our clients are at their busiest. Outside of these times we can offer more regular hours, usually Monday to Friday with occasional evening and weekend work.

Skills for the role:

·A proven track record of managing a back of house catering operation including experience of managing a logistics department is desirable

·Extensive experience of managing people including recruiting, training and performance management

·Disciplined approach to all planning and paperwork and strong prioritising skills

·Ability to work under pressure, in a fast paced environment and happy to pick orders, deliver orders or clean equipment if the pressure is on

·Effective communication skills and an aptitude to talk to a variety of audiences from warehouse assistants and drivers to other department heads and directors

·Flexible approach to working hours with the ability to work longer hours, weekends and bank holidays during peak periods and as the operations require

·Driving licence is essential, forklift licence desirable
