Temporary Cabin Kitchens

Jongor Hire provide cabin kitchen solutions to a number of outdoor events, as well as covering kitchen refurbishments and emergency kitchen requirements. We operate with various clients within both the private and public sector and have worked on numerous locations from theme parks to schools.  


The portable kitchens can be hired as a single module, or can be combined with weatherproof links to form large scale catering facilities. Available in three sizes (4.6m, 7.6m or 8.5m long), each temporary kitchen can be supplied with your choice of catering equipment to ensure the modules meet your requirements. Every kitchen includes an air extraction canopy, non-slip flooring and integrated fire suppression to ensure each unit complies with hygiene and safety standards.


The Cabin Kitchens are available in electric, LPG or natural gas. Each unit is supplied with a 63 amp single phase 'Commando' connection, water and waste connections, and an LPG supply. LPG can be topped up by Jongor, and stored in secure gas cages. A change over valve will be provided, enabling a constant supply and helps recognise gas usage.

Case Study

Our client Cheltenham College in Gloucestershire required temporary kitchens whilst they refurbished their kitchens which feed 1,650 school children a day.


As the project lead, Jongor oversaw the whole project requirement, from the initial site visit, to removing the final gas bottle on the last day. This started with a site visit to check the available space to enable us to put together a build plan and CAD scaled drawings to agree with the client. It was vital to ensure that all aspects had been considered when it came to installation in this historic site with difficult access. The field kitchen was delivered in August to ensure it was live by the start of term in September. Full catering facilities were provided, including two production kitchens, two preparation kitchens and two dishwashing units, a walk in cold room, freezer, and two large dry ambient stores. This was all connected via a link tunnel to join the kitchens to the school dining hall. Commissioning of the gas equipment was carried out by Jongor Hire’s Gas Certified Installation team, with engineers on call throughout the live period in case of equipment breakdowns.


With the live period nearing an end, Jongor liaised with the client of a pull out plan to work around the schools operational requirements, returning the courtyard to its previous use and helping the client move into their shiny new permanent kitchens.
