What is a dark kitchen? 
Dark kitchens are remote commercial kitchens without the dining restaurant attached. Dark kitchens are also called virtual kitchens, cloud kitchens, ghost kitchens, satellite kitchens or delivery-only restaurants. The concept however, is the same. These kitchens are used to cook meals exclusively for delivery service.

Can Jongor Hire deliver and install a dark kitchen?
We deliver units on a HIAB lorry which is a flatbed truck with an in-built crane and can deliver 24/7 across the UK. We provide a full installation service with ever dark kitchen order and will supply and connect to utilities, whether these be fixed or temporary supplies.

Can Jongor Hire provide kitchen and catering equipment?
We hold a vast range of catering equipment in stock so you can customise your dark kitchen with the kitchen items you require. You can view our full range here.

What is the minimum length of time I can hire a dark kitchen?
There is no minimum hire period.

What features are included in a dark kitchen?
Our temporary dark kitchens include as standard all features of a permanent kitchen such as:

  • Overhead extraction with gas interlock system
  • ANSUL® fire suppression system
  • Powerful LED lighting, plus emergency lights
  • Water heater for instant hot water
  • Insectocutor
  • Double bowl sink
  • Hand wash sink
  • Stainless steel splashbacks
  • Lockable doors, non-slip floors and floor drains.  


Optional extras include fire and intruder alarms, ramps and access stairs, and temporary power and water supplies. Catering equipment is then designed and fitted to the specification required.
